CoCA in Pioneer Square + Upcoming Auction

From CoCA’s Site:

CoCA’s newest space in Pioneer Square opened last First Thursday, and we were happy to have so many of you turn out to see the space. Although we have only occupied the front 800 square feet so far, we’ve got some terrific art by Zak Alexander, as well as a few pieces from a number of other artists, including John Schuh, Joan Engelmeyer, Marc Lindsay, Miguel Edwards, John Ambrosavage, and David Francis.

Although we don’t have a full schedule of hours yet, our current goal is to be open in the afternoons. Drop by and check it out, just a few doors south of the old entrance to Elliot Bay Book Company. David has set up a workspace in the front, where he can be found making artwork many afternoons from noon to three or so. You can’t miss it.

Jones and Jones, owners of the Globe Building at the corner of First and Main in Pioneer Square, have agreed to host CoCA’s 18th Annual Art Marathon and Auction in this fabulous space. We are discussing other possibilities, including gallery space, an artist’s workshop, a CoCA bookstore, and other uses, which would expand the space to 3,000 square feet.

(thanks Robert!)

Also, the Artist Trust site has an announcement of an auction coming up that will be held in the space. Check it out:

Marathon begins 9 am Oct. 1; ends Oct. 2 at 9 am. Auction begins at 5pm Oct. 2, all in CoCA’s newest space in Pioneer Square, 1st & Main, Globe Building (old Elliott Bay Bookstore).
