Drew Carey in P2

This post is coming waaay later than the event, but I’ve been sick and out of town. I could think of more excuses if it would make you feel better.

Pretty cool, first of all, not just to have a soccer team in our crazy sports town, but to have someone with such cool glasses be a part owner and mingle with the little people of P2.

(p.s. I heard a rumor that he’s had lasik and the glasses are just for show. Did I ruin something for you? I’m sorry)

We were just walking back from the Thriller performance, and getting our free t-shirts (which was chaotic, by the way — 1/2 the people in line were only there because they saw a big line), when he was dropped off outside of Fuel by a tinted windows black SUV.

I was surprised (and impressed) that he had no bodyguards with him, and started signing autographs and having his picture taken with the rambunctuous crowd that quickly gathered. The funny part was when this (supposedly) drunk/high man wouldn’t stop hugging and talking to Drew. At one point, he even asked him for money, and Drew slipped him $20.

The husband finally engaged the drunk in conversation to let other fans have the chance to have their pictures taken and shirts autographed. When I walked over, the drunk was like “Did you see Drew? Isn’t he the best? Isn’t he the coolest?”

I agreed, and now we’re all on a first name basis, including Drew.

p.s. the Sounders rock!
