Mayor defends snow plan, parking fees (My Northwest)
McGinn says he’s heard from business people, particularly in Pioneer Square, who like his plan to charge for street parking on Sunday. [Note: Maybe if they zoned for residential parking, the residents wouldn’t mind either]

Pioneer Square: Seattle’s Fleet Street (PSBJ)
With the addition of Crosscut, Pioneer Square is adding to its stature as Seattle’s little Fleet Street, the London street that for years housed the British press.

Crosscut is moving their offices right above the venerated space of the old Elliott Bay Book Co. One of the ways they hope to aid in the revitalization is by putting on programs (forums, parties, meet-and-greets, music) in part of the old bookstore.

Tat’s Delicatessen, for example, is one of the most popular lunch spots in Seattle’s Pioneer Square; it’s also earned rave reviews online. “It really is like having a reviewer in your door reviewing your business at all times,” said Tat’s owner Brian Tatman. Tat’s averages 4 out of 5 stars on Yelp — a huge feat, considering years back, Tatman received a bad review from a newspaper.

Water taxi rams Seattle pier, 7 injured (KVAL)
The boat landing where the crash happened is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1920 and has fulfilled a number of functions over the years. The landing is the only remaining link from the historic Pioneer Square Skid Road Historic District.
