Road Closures: Rock N’ Roll Marathon this weekend

This will be the third year in a row that I’ve done the Seattle Rock N’ Roll (half) Marathon — it benefits the American Cancer Society and will bring over 28,000 runners and walkers to Seattle. It is also one of the only runs in the rock n’ roll series that sells out every year.

Although the race starts in South Seattle, it winds through Pioneer Square, up onto the Viaduct, and ends at Qwest Field. There will be major road closures and a lot of bus route changes, beginning early Saturday morning.

There is an interactive map that highlights what roads will be closed on their Community Website.

Join the festivities! Seattle residents are encouraged to visit the free Health & Fitness Expo at the Qwest Event Center, volunteer during race weekend, and/or line the course to cheer runners.

Affected Transit Routes
For information about area transit service that may be affected by this event, visit www.kingcounty.gov/metro or soundtransit.org during the week of June 20.

Rock N’ Roll has also provided a printable map that shows the course, a table with road closures, and other information. If you’re not participating, you can still join the thousands of people who line up in Pioneer Square down 2nd Ave, and by Qwest field to cheer the runners as they make their way back.
