Parking beneath viaduct to be removed starting Oct. 14

Areas for parking removal Starting Friday, Oct. 14, crews working for WSDOT will remove parking beneath the Alaskan Way Viaduct between Railroad Way South and just north of South Jackson Street. These spaces must be removed to make room for construction equipment, and to give crews room to build a detour that will keep surface street traffic moving through the area during the project.

Where else can I park?
Parking is available in various pay lots and garages between South Main Street and Railroad Way South. On-street parking is available below the viaduct north of South Jackson Street and in the Pioneer Square neighborhood.

What is being done to address parking impacts?
WSDOT and the City of Seattle are working closely with Pioneer Square representatives to develop short-term strategies to help the neighborhood through the holiday season. Ideas include marketing activities, and partnerships with parking garages and surface lots to make more parking available.
