Big Announcements from Lumen Field/First & Goal

  • Lumen Field is excited to announce First & Goal, Inc. (FGI) has partnered with the City of Seattle and Swedish to make Lumen Field Event Center (LFEC) a COVID Mass Vaccination Site beginning on March 10th. The vaccine site will be opened to only those with scheduled appointments on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11:00am—7:00pm. At this time, it is estimated LFEC will receive around 5,000 does per week with the potential to expand to over 100K per week. The amount of vaccines will vary weekly based upon vaccine availability and supply sent to Swedish weekly. When vaccines become more readily available, the days of operations and hours will expand. The City does not anticipate the number of vaccine doses to expand immediately, so through the month of March we plan to only have the site open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We will keep all of you informed on increases of doses and extended hours of operation.
    • Parking & Traffic – Seattle Police are responsible for directing traffic during the hours of operations. Initially, they will be posted on Occidental and Royal Brougham. As the vaccine doses increase and the number of appointments become available, their presence and footprint will expand. The Lumen Field Garage and the North Lot will be available for free parking to individuals with appointments.
    • Public Transit – Expect to see increased use of public transportation throughout the immediate area to include pedestrians crossing 4th street and from the Weller Street Bridge.
    • Volunteers – Over 600 volunteers will be on site during the hours of operations for the vaccine site. All volunteers will be parking at T-Mobile Park Garage and will walk to LFEC via 1st street. We will begin to see volunteers on site daily beginning on March 3rd.
  • Field to Table Event – FGI has partnered with S&E Productions to host a Field to Table event at Lumen Field. Attendees will enjoy a four-course meal on the field in socially distanced heat tents and seating. S&E Productions has partnered with several local Seattle Chefs to prepare the four-course meal nightly. The event is geared to assisting the local restaurant community directly impacted by the pandemic. Total nightly attendance is around 200 with two seating sessions of 100 per Washington COVID Restaurant Protocols. Currently, the event is scheduled to run through March 21st.
  • Roof Project – As mentioned in our CPF meeting in January, the Lumen Field Roof project will begin in the coming weeks. The project is slated to begin on March 26th through the end of August. The project will entail closures of Occidental through the end of May to early June during the week and potentially on Saturdays depending on weather patterns. No overnight construction will be conducted.
  • Sounders Schedule – We are anticipating the release of the MLS schedule to be released in the coming weeks. The Sounders are anticipating the MLS season to begin in mid-April.
  • Attendance of Fans at Lumen Field – While we are uncertain when and how many fans/guests will be allowed to enjoy events at Lumen Field, we are continuously preparing and working with State and Local Governments to ensure Lumen Field provides the safest environment for all employees, players and guests once we can host fans. As we begin to receive timelines for return to fans at Lumen Field, we will update the community to allow for planning and preparation.
